We have, historically, heaped little but opprobrium upon Bering for their motorcycle pants.
Well, we do like these trousers. They’re a wee bit different. They are not laminated; they were not designed to go with the aforementioned jackets, but nonetheless we like them. Their USP is that they are made from a soft shell fabric, a fabric that incorporates four-way stretch. And that makes them just about the most comfortable and best fitting motorcycle pants that you will ever come across.
The Alkors have a waterproof membrane, but what you need to understand is that every membrane is a trade off between waterproofing and breathability. And the membrane in the Alkor is one that emphasises breathability. Yes these trousers will keep you dry, but only for a few hours at most.
In terms of features, you get an elasticated waist with a Velcro adjustable belt. There are three external pockets and two zipped vents. At the bottom of the legs, there are zips and a gussets. The leg fits quite narrowly, but with the stretch in the material, you’ll get them over a Daytona-style boot without any kind of problem. You also get a connecting zip that will enable the pants to be zipped into any Bering jacket. The Alkors come equipped with knee armour and pockets for hip armour which can be added.
There is a propensity amongst motorcyclists these days to always want more. And this we understand. But sometimes less is more. And that’s what we have here. These motorcycle trousers are the nicest, easiest and most comfortable you will ever wear. Everything else is a bit of a trade off. You’ll have to make up your own mind whether they are for you.
