The Hercule is a ladies’ winter glove, and very few winter gloves work for ladies. Now, by and large, women have longer and more slender fingers than do men. Many manufacturers will often take a men’s winter glove as a starting point, but the heavy wadding that might work in a men’s glove tends to make a women’s glove uncomfortable. The fingers simply become too thick and unwieldy.
But we happen to think the Hercule does work, and that may down to the fact that the outer chassis is a super-stretchy soft shell material; it makes the glove much more comfortable to wear.
The palm is goat skin and Nubuck, there’s a hard knuckle protector, you get accordion stretch on the fingers, two straps at the wrist and the cuff, a visor wipe and touchscreen fingertips. The thermal is a 110g. hollow-form fibre of some description. Impressively, the membrane comes courtesy of Gore-Tex.
And given what you get, we think the price tag seems more than reasonable.
