The Held Air n Dry II is in an updated version of the original two-chamber glove. Here at Motolegends we don’t really like two-chamber gloves. But most two-chamber gloves are winter gloves, and they simply don’t deliver what they’re meant to. They promise something they cannot deliver, but the Held two-chamber, waterproof glove, and it does work; kind of. The Air n Dry has a full Gore-Tex lining. Now in the upper of the two compartments what you get is a traditional waterproof glove, albeit a very nice one. With a kangaroo palm, a Cordura back, Superfabric, a hard knuckle protector and so on, it’s a beautiful glove to wear. But when you put your hand in the lower compartment, you end up with a glove with a waterproof upper and no membrane on the palm side. The idea here is that you have a waterproof glove that you can turn into something that’s closer to a summer glove when the conditions are hotter. You don’t get a pure summer glove, because you wouldn’t want any membrane at all in a proper summer glove, but if you only want to wear one pair of gloves, and want to extend the conditions in which your waterproof gloves are wearable, then the Air n Drys work. And what we can say is that in the warm-weather, lower-compartment configuration this really is a lovely glove to wear. In the upper compartment, you have a traditional, summer-waterproof glove, albeit a somewhat superior one. We are not still not huge fans of two-chamber gloves, but if we were to be convinced by any two-chamber glove it would be this one.
