Helstons Kate Ladies Leather Jacket In Black

We have not always been particularly taken with the leather jackets that Helstons fashions for women. But the Kate seems to be a jacket that is going to work well. It’s made from a full-grain leather of between 0.8 and 1 millimetres in thickness. The leather throughout is quilted, but between the areas of leather there are bands of stretch material, and these will allow the jacket to fit a wide variety of shapes and sizes. This will be a leather jacket that wears more like a textile jacket in terms of comfort.

As with all of  Helstons’ jackets, the Kate comes supplied with CE armour for the elbows, shoulders and back. Almost uniquely in the motorcycle world, nearly all of Helstons’ leather jackets come with a fixed waterproof membrane. This, of course, applies to the Kate, but what needs to be understood is that this membrane is more about the wind than the rain. No leather jacket will be great in the rain, but a leather jacket with a membrane will always be warmer in cool weather.

The jacket comes equipped with adjusters at the sleeve ends, and with gussets at the hem, to allow the jacket to splay a little when sat on the bike.

The Kate is an easy-to-wear motorcycle jacket that is going to work just as well off the bike as on. It’s also going to look great in either guise.
