Kriega offer what, at times, can only be considered to be an overwhelming range of backpacks. They come in all shapes and sizes; from the diminutive to the humongous. But they are not all waterproof, and for most of us that’s a critical consideration. This is the UK, and it’s going to rain!
The R16 is a waterproof backpack. With a capacity of 16 litres, it’s what walkers might term a daypack. If you were touring and had limited pannier space, you would want something larger. It’s probably even too small for a weekend away, but if you commute, for example, and want somewhere to carry your essentials then a bag like this is what you need. There’s enough room for a few bits of clothing and there’s space enough to take a 15th” laptop.
You get one main compartment and then a smaller one for bits and bobs. Both, obviously are totally waterproof.
Kriega’s Quadloc harness helps keep the backpack firmly in place. The inner surface is heavily padded in an air-mesh material. You also get a carry handle.
The R16 will also take a hydration reservoir.
