The Pando Moto Tuff chino is the culmination of a project we have been working on with Pando Moto for some months. The brief was a chino you could wear in to the office . The colour is somewhere between khaki and camel. The material feels and looks like a cavalry twill. This is not a heavy pant but neither it is a summer holiday lightweight pant. After all it is still a protective motorcycle pant.
There are two ways that motorcycle pants protect the rider. Firstly there is abrasion, tear and puncture resistance from the material. Secondly there is armour for impact. protection.
Now, we know that some people don’t wear armour in their protective clothing, particularly if they are hoping to wear it all day in the office. So our chino as pockets for hip armour but no pockets for knee armour. It is therefore rated level B under EN17092. However, the material we have used is a level AA material in terms of abrasion. In essence, therefore, this is an AA rated protective chino but without armour.
One final thought. If you want knee protectors but want to be able to take them off easily then go for a set of Endura Ghost knee protectors. Then you can slide them off in teh loo before you hit your work day.
