We couldn’t, at first, work out exactly what this glove was meant to be; that was until we checked its name: ‘Cold Spring’. And we think that’s not a bad name. It is an in-between glove. It’s not a full-on winter glove, yet it’s more than what we would term a summer-waterproof glove. It’s a waterproof glove, obviously, and in fact the membrane comes courtesy of Gore-Tex, so it should be a very waterproof glove. But it doesn’t come with any hi-tech insulating material. It does have, though, what Richa calls a Tri-fleece lining. It is this fleecey lining that provides a degree of warmth, although as we have suggested it doesn’t make it the kind of glove you would necessarily wear in the depths of winter. But what it does mean is that it is a glove you can wear most of the year round. Not on really hot days, and not in the freezing cold, but for everything else it will work fine. The back of the glove is made from a stretch fabric called Nyspan. The palm is made from goatskin leather for better feel without compromising strength. You get reflective piping on the back of the hand, soft padding in the knuckles and on the palm, digiprint leather for extra grip, a visor wipe on the left hand and both a zip and a Velcro fastener at the cuff.
