This is the latest iteration of Rokker’s famous laminated, single-layer, waterproof, protective jean. There are other so-called waterproof jeans on the market, but they don’t work as they will have totally wetted out by the time the membrane comes to do its job.
The Revolutions are totally waterproof. The membrane is laminated to the inner side of the outer material. All of the seams are taped. The fly has a water-resistant zip. The only way that rain can makes its way into the jeans is through the front pockets, or through the waistband, which is not waterproof.
The Revolutions also incorporate a C-Change membrane which helps regulate the rider’s temperature. The molecules in the membrane will shrink in the heat to allow heat to escape. They will expand in the cold to keep the heat in. This is clever stuff, but it works in the margin. You won’t stay cool in thirty degree temperatures. You won’t be warm in the freezing cold.
The trousers have two front pockets, and two rear ones. There are no rivets, so the jeans won’t scratch your tank.
The jeans have an impressive AAA rating under EN17092; and it doesn’t get better than that. The armour is D3O-like, flat SAS-Tec armour. It is level 1, and comes supplied for the knees and the hips. In the knees, the armour is adjustable. Sadly, although D3O Ghost armour will fit into the armour pockets, the smaller SAS-Tec pockets do not allow D3O Ghost to be moved up or down. Here at Motolegends, however, we can change the armour pockets, and fit Ghost D3O. There is a charge of £50 for this, and we will only do this if you visit the shop.
The Revolution jean we are offering here is the latest ‘straight-leg’ version . This model was introduced because some found the tapered model too tight and clingy. And in hot conditions one needs the air to flow more easily around the legs, otherwise they can become sweaty and sticky.
It would be a mistake to assume that this is a jean you can wear all-year-round in all conditions. It is very waterproof. It is warmer than most jeans because of the membrane. But in hot weather they are not necessarily nice to wear.
As with all Rokker jeans, the jeans come in four leg lengths.
