Rukka Aldrich Jacket In Grey

We like this fleece a lot. It reminds us of all those great tops that Halvarssons used to do. Now the importer suggests that the Aldrich is a technical fleece for wearing beneath your outer motorcycle jacket, and whilst you could wear it like this, we’re not convinced that this why Rukka produced it, and that’s because it’s a bit long for the bike; it would make zipping in the top and bottom halves a bit tricky. Our suspicion is that it’s intended more for the street than for the bike. Certainly, you’d not be embarrassed wearing this as a fleece down the pub. What is going to make this fleece so nice to wear when it is cold, however, is that it’s backed with a windproof membrane. Now a windproof membrane is also a waterproof membrane, so you will get a degree of waterproofing with the jacket. But only a degree, because the seams won’t be taped. After a while, therefore, water will enter into the jacket. Still, some protection from the rain is better than none.
