The new Shoei Neotec 3 is an updated and improved version of their already well reviewed Neotec 2.

It is now ECE 22-06 approved. In addition Shoei has worked hard to improve on the earlier model particularly in the areas of ventilation and quietness.

So the venting is improved on the new model. Both the brow and the chin vents are now two-position vents giving you more options than just open and closed.

The internal sun visor is deeper than the previous version so there is no possibility of seeing the bottom of the sun visor in your eyeline as there was previously.

The visor now has a central locking position and does require a two movement opening much as the new NXR2 did. This is part of the new legislation but won’t be liked by everyone and may need some practise with a thickly gloved hand.

The chin strap is thinner and softer to aid comfort (without compromising strength) and still comes with a ratchet system although the new one is a little less bulky than the old.

In terms of noise, the cheek pads have been extended at the back so there should be less chance for air ingress around the neck. In addition the comms has been lowered and the switching at the side has been modified. These issues all to do with making less turbulence and therefore less noise.

The flip front closes more tightly and again this should reduce noise.

Comes with a 120 Pinlock as standard.

As with all Shoeis the internal cheekpads and liners are swoppable to improve the fit.
